Driving School Official Bodies


There are a number of officail bodies that help ensure that the driving tuitition you get from your chose driving school is the best available.

Whilst learning to drive you will come across different people and organisations. Here's a short list.....

DSA website

The Driving Standards Agency set the standards, approve and test driving instructors, handle all test applications, produce official training materials and carry out driving tests.
Approved Driving Instructor

Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) - an approved instructor should display the green octagon badge on the vehicles windscreen.

PDI means that the instructor is a trainee - a trainee instructor hasn't passed the final ADI exam, but is licenced to provide driving lessons. They should show a pink triangle badge on their windscreen

Licencing Agency

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency responsible for licence applications, vehicle registration, road tax, medical conditions, personalised registration plates and any endorsements (points on your licence) or disqualifications.
